Cancelled... University Place Duck Daze Parade. Every year on the first Saturday in June the University Place community gets together for the annual Duck Daze celebration. The event began about 16 years ago when TCC member Dixie Harris and Terry Reim, founders of the University Place Farmers Market, felt that they needed an event to celebrate the end of the rainy season, as well as, the wonderful improvements to Bridgeport Way. The yellow duck was adopted as the symbol of the parade and is now a community mascot. Download the Duck Daze Flyer... (coming later, please check back...) This is an important and fun event and one that everyone should plan to attend. We will be taking City Council members along for the ride. |

Postponed Due To Reduction in Phase 3 Re-Openings... Let's Go For A Drive to Penrose Point State Park... We will drive across the Tacoma Narrows Bridge and onto the Key Peninsula, with our final destination being Penrose Point State Park. There is a large day-use area in the park, with parking, restrooms and picnic tables. Please be sure to bring your face masks to wear when we are together as a group. We also recommend you bring a folding chair for your socially-distanced comfort. There are no concessions in the park so plan to pack a lunch and beverages. |
